Minna Svärd came in second in the 2019 Women's NCAA Division II
400-meter hurdles to CeCe' Telfer (center →), a male athlete who won by 1.68 seconds.
Fka Craig Telfer, his ranking in the men's division was 390.
Did you know that women's NCAA 400m hurdles are six inches lower than men's?
There's a reason for that. From the picture, I estimate the height difference
between Svärd and Telfer to be about nine inches. I'll leave it to you
to determine any significance.
Notice, the females are all smiles. They sure look happy to me. Fast forward six years and now Svärd (third from right) wants a do-over with the results. Wow, how brave! Not! Where was her voice in 2019? She turned 21 that year, not exactly a child.
If you want to accuse me of victim blaming, go right ahead -- but as I see it,
there's a difference between abuse that happens beyond your control and voluntarily
walking into the arena and getting your asses kicked by men. Go ahead. Keep
competing against these men and lose your places at the podium, trophies, scholarships,
and endorsement deals. Have your athletic records not only broken but blown away.
It's no skin off my nose.
There's this two-letter word that works wonders: No!
