Affirmation Generation

• A group of medical professionals, psychotherapists, investigative reporters and detransitioners have joined to create a video regarding their experiences with the recent phenomenon of gender transitioning, particularly among minors. The movie was produced by self-proclaimed "life-long, west coast, liberal Democrats." The political/social leanings of those interviewed in the video are mostly unknown but several did declare their left leanings.
  
  
• Psychotherapist Stella O'Malley points out that we've gone from the Gay Rights Movement in the 70s declaring "we were born this way" to today's declaration in the trans movement that "we were born in the wrong bodies." By comparison:
  Gay Movement: I was born this way.
  Trans Movement: I should have been born this other way.
  
  
• Medical journalist Lisa Davis bemoans that those on her side of the political and social spectrums are using intimidation tactics to silence dissenting voices. As an example, she sites WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgener Health) guidelines that "recommends threatening parents with a call to child protective services [for] failing to affirm a child's transgender identity." Davis comments: "I want liberals to help us de-escalate this from culture war to conversation." Amen to that.
  
  
• After watching their video, I'm going to make a prediction. Within the next five years we are going to see a dramatic shift away from gender-affirming care and transitioning of minors much like we saw the virtual abandonment of Repressed Memory Therapy a few decades ago. A 4,000% increase in young girls seeking "gender-affirming care" is not indicative of children coming out of the closet, but suggests external influences on a suggestible population -- a social contagion.
  
  
• I encourage anyone reading this to watch the Affirmation Generation Movie. It runs an hour and a half but I found it fascinating and informative. Once I started watching, I was hooked.

        

 

There is genuine concern written all over their faces.

         

Transphobes and bigots, or concerned mental health professionals, physicians,

         

and journalists expressing concerns and sounding the alarm?

         

 

A Few Detransitioners

Their stories are sad if not tragic. I wish them well on their road to recovery.

• Many who demanded that we affirm the identities of anyone delclaring themselves trans, now want us to believe
  that these detransitioners weren't really trans to start with. That's wanting it both ways. If detransitioners weren't
  really trans to start with, why would we provide gender-affirming care to anyone, especially minors?
  
  
• What could a gender specialist and surgeon say to someone who had her perfectly healthy breasts removed as a teenager,
  if she regrets that decision a year later, or when she's 25 or 30 and is unable to breastfeed her child? "Whoopsie!"

Laura was to be affirmed when she declared herself a transgendered man. To be consistent,
we must now affirm her declarations about the harm that's been done to her. She now regrets
her double mastectomy, calling it "medical trauma," "mutilation," and "unnecessary medical
carnage." Trans rights advocates call this "gender-affirming care." Which is it? You decide.
