Robin and Cindy

© Maja Palra Music Publishing, 2011

My family has vacationed every summer for years in Ocean City, MD. One summer, with the help of my dear siblings, I was buried up to my neck in the sand. I asked two girls if they'd pose with me for a picture. Later that evening, I wrote this song for them.

This song almost didn't get recorded. I could not remember all the words and already had 12 songs picked out and recorded. One day, while searching for another song, I found a demo version I'd done. Fortunately, it had the words. So, I decided to rush it through before going to production.

Lyrics

Robin and Cindy, helpin' my mood along.
A fisherman's dream, two seaside queens,
Would make a pretty picture.
The fool that I am, I'd dig myself in the sand,
If I thought you would notice me.
Robin and Cindy, would you come lay with me?

Sweet walkin', sweet talkin', Baby, you caught my eye.
I like your warm smile and feminine style.
You'll do fine for what I have in mind.

So, come on ladies, would you like to come out and play?
Some afternoon fun and the warm, bay sun
Gonna help you see things my way.
Just to say that you can and the man that I am
Without even sayin':  "Pretty Please!",
Robin and Cindy, won't you come lay with me?

Sweet walkin', sweet talkin', Baby, you caught my eye.
I like your warm smile and feminine style.
You'll do fine for what I have in mind.

I'll see you again next year at The Castle.
Bye, bye.
