Ford Vs. Kavanaugh

- An individual should go to LE, (not your local, friendly politician who then forwards information on to the public),
to file an official sexual assault complaint. No, you don't just march up to Congress, the FBI nor any LE and demand an investigation.
An individual must be willing to file an official complaint that a specific (potential) crime has occurred. No complaint, no investigation. Makes sense so far?
- LE, be it local, FBI, etc., takes your OFFICIAL statement and decides whether to investigate or not. Notice, Ford has NEVER filed a police report charging Kavanaugh with sexual assault. The question is, why not?
- For the sake of argument, let's say Ford decides to file a sexual assault complaint and you conduct her interview. Based on what I have read and heard in the news, here's how I imagine part of the interview might go:
- Q. When did the assault take place?
A. I don't remember exactly when but it was 35 years ago give or take.
- Q. Can you be more specific: which year, month, day?
A. No.
- Q. Where did the assault take place?
A. I don't remember the location but we were in a house.
- Q. (You are thinking: "Well, that certainly narrows things down", but you remain professional and continue.)
It would be helpful to any investigation to know where the assault took place. That way we can interview
the homeowner, neighbors, etc. Can you narrow down the venue?
A. No, I don't remember where this assault occurred.
- Q. How old were you?
A. Fifteen, I think.
- Q. Where you injured, raped, or received medical treatment?
A. No, no, and no.
- Q. What was going on at the time of the assault?
A. I was at a party.
- Q. Were there any witnesses?
A. Yes, there were four -- but none of the witnesses recall the party, nor the assault, nor hearing about it, nor claim seeing the boy I'm accusing as ever behaving in that manner.
- Q. Was there alcohol involved? Had you been drinking?
A. Yes, I had one beer.
(You are wondering did she really consume one beer? Was that one beer a six ounce paper cup or a 32
ounce Big Gulp?)
- Q. Since both of you were minors, I would like to know who supplied the alcohol?
A. I don't remember..
- Q. How did you get to the party? How did you get home? Is there someone we can talk to that brought you or was with you going to and/or from this party?
A. I don't remember how I got to or home from the party.
- Q. Is there anyone else that remembers this party?
A. No.
- Q. Did you file a complaint at the time?
A. No.
- Q. You don't know when the assault took place, where it took place, how you got there
nor how you got home, no witness, and no police report was filed at the time,
but you are certain Kavanaugh sexually assaulted you about 35 years ago when you were approximately 15 years old and had been drinking?
A. Yes, I'm certain.
- Q. You're not giving me much to go on, here. So, what exactly do you want me to do?
A. I demand an investigation.
Trying as hard as you can not to roll your eyes, and with NOTHING to go on, how would you proceed???
- From what I'm seeing from the anti-Kavanaugh crowd:
- the priniciple of innocent until proven guilty has been thrown out the window
- if Kavanaugh's life and reputation have to be ruined to keep him off the Supreme Court, truth and fairness be damned, so be it. The end justifies the means.
